Sanya's love for volleyball in high school sent her searching for a volleyball scholarship to help pay for college and continue playing the sport. She ended up at University of Charleston in West Virginia to play for the Eagles. When she discovered she needed to be looking more to academics instead of athletics she headed back to the west coast and entered BYU. During the time her father lost his battle to cancer, she went to some in-state schools named Metro State College of Denver and Platte college to pursue graphic design. She worked at a design firm in Winter Park before moving to Pagosa Springs. After having 3 children she thought a job at the school would give her the opportunity to have the same schedule as her kids. She worked as a substitute for 2 years before applying to the the part time secretary position where she has worked for almost 2 years.
Hobbies include volleyball, photography, and exploring what the world has to offer with her 3 children and husband.
