Mrs. Prudhomme grew up in Ann Arbor, MI and earned a BA of Psychology at the University of Michigan. After graduating, she moved to Colorado and met her husband, Mike. Prior to education, Mrs. Prudhomme worked in the insurance industry, then stayed home for several years to raise her 2 children, Kristen and Matt. Once her children were in school, she became a substitute teacher. Mrs. Prudhomme loved being in the schools and working with children and decided to pursue a career in teaching. In 2004, she received her teaching certificate from Western State College and began her teaching career as a 4th grade teacher in the Lewis Palmer School District in Monument, Colorado. In 2008, she changed school districts in order to open Clear Sky Elementary School in Douglas County. At Clear Sky, she taught 5th grade. In 2015, Mrs. Prudhomme's husband took a job in Northern New Mexico. With both of their kids away at college, they were empty-nesters and ready to take on new adventures, so they decided to move to Pagosa Springs. Mrs. Prudhomme started the next phase of her teaching career at Pagosa Elementary in the 2016-2017 school year.
On her "off time", Mrs. Prudhomme enjoys spending time in the outdoors. In the winters, she and her husband like to snowshoe and cross country ski. During the spring, summer and fall, they enjoy hiking and spending as much time at Lake Powell as possible. She enjoys watching sports and her favorite teams are the Broncos, the Rockies, the Avalanche, and of course, Michigan football. She also enjoys yoga, reading, listening to music and spending time with her 2 black labs.
