Jean Fox has lived in Pagosa Springs with her husband, after he retired from the military, in 1988. While being moved from state to state, she raised their three children and went back to school to get her degree in elementary education from Arizona State University. After arriving in Pagosa Springs, Jean was hired on to the elementary staff. She taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. She then became a Title I reading specialist. She retired from teaching in 2011, although she wasn't ready to give teaching up. She currently works part time as a reading interventionist, mainly supporting kindergartners.
Jean loves to water ski, hike, snow shoe, and whatever other outdoor activities arise, and usually with her Bernese Mountain Dog in tow. She thoroughly enjoys riding her bike, loves to read, and spoil her children, grand children, and great grandson any chance she gets.
