Anika Thomas is thrilled to be the music teacher at Pagosa Springs Elementary School!

Ms. Thomas was born and raised in Pagosa and has always dreamed of giving back to the community that she loves so dearly.

Armed with a passion for music and movement, she studied music education and dance and has a BM in Music Education from Colorado Christian University, where her love for the arts blossomed. During her time in the "Big City" she discovered a proclivity towards teaching elementary students and geared her studies toward teaching music to that age group.

You might recognize her from elsewhere because she has worn many hats in Pagosa. She taught swim lessons for 10 years, has taught at Pagosa Springs Dance Academy since 2018, and has regularly been a part of local musicals.

Her musical curiosity extends beyond the classroom through singing and playing any instrument she can get her hands on, including cello, horn, viola, and more. Beyond the realm of education, she finds joy in exploring the great outdoors through backpacking, fly fishing, hiking, and skiing.
