Welcome to PSES

Pagosa Springs Elementary is a vibrant learning community of students grades kindergarten through fourth. The school places an emphasis on the whole child, nurturing intellectual, social-emotional, physical, and artistic aspects of each child.  We look forward to educating our students Mon.-Thurs. 7:45 am - 3:15 pm.

Special Elementary Student show of Beauty and The Beast

Pagosa Springs Elementary School students visit the high school for a very special private showing of Beauty and the Beast. The excitement and awe amongst the young students were palatable - we love the collaboration between the schools to make this special show happen.

Pagosa Springs Elementary 2022-2023 K - 4 registration is now open. Paperwork can be picked up at our office or found online at :

Under the PARENTS & STUDENTS tab and Enrollment.

Registration paperwork, along with a copy of birth certificate, and immunization records can be dropped off at PSES between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday until June 3rd.

Staff Begin the 2022-23 School Year in Schools with Superintendent Holt

This week, Archuleta School District staff returned to work for their annual back-to-school district-wide gathering.  Staff enjoyed time together with colleagues and received a warm welcome from school board president Bob Lynch and Superintendent Rick Holt. ASD’s food service team provided a tasty and nutritious breakfast.  Rather than a typical morning filled with district wide events and activities, staff were given the day to return to their schools to prepare to kick-off the 2022-23 school year..

Our Middle School won the inaugural 2015 Governor’s Award for Healthy Schools competing with 43 other schools for this honor. In 2016, our Elementary School also won a healthy award grant. Our Special Talents teacher, Mary Kurt-Mason was named in People Magazine as “Teacher of the Year”.
