Welcome to PSES

Pagosa Springs Elementary is a vibrant learning community of students grades kindergarten through fourth. The school places an emphasis on the whole child, nurturing intellectual, social-emotional, physical, and artistic aspects of each child.  We look forward to educating our students Mon.-Thurs. 7:55 am - 2:50 pm.  Friday's are a STAFF ONLY workday.

Pagosa Springs Elementary 2021/22 Kindergarten registration is now open. Paperwork can be picked up at our office or found online at : https://elementary.mypagosaschools.com/ Under the PARENTS & STUDENTS tab and Enrollment. Registration paperwork, along with a copy of birth certificate, and immunization records can be dropped off at PSES between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday until June 4th.

PSES Chooses New Curriculum K-5

Pagosa Springs Elementary School recently reviewed and 'test drove' six different curriculums. As a staff, they reviewed the data and made a collaborative decision to use Open Court Curriculum for K-2 grades and Benchmark Curriculum 3-5 grades. The curriculum materials are available in the District office for review and can also be reviewed online.

District Staff Begins Intensive Trainings to Implement New Management Software for the District

This spring, Archuleta School District's Administration office staff has begun the herculean task of learning, training and implementing a new and powerful Technology, Infinite Visions, that will be used to bridge information across the District and will improve and increase processes district-wide. Thank you, District office staff, for all of your efforts to ensure that our school district runs effectively and smoothly. Although you work tirelessly to serve all schools behind the scenes daily-you all are greatly appreciated daily.

ASD Offers Rapid COVID-19 Tests for Staff and Students

Rapid testing is now available at all ASD schools. Staff & students (with parental consent) can now receive rapid testing. Tests will show results in 15 minutes and will be a great tool to help the District keep students and staff safe, healthy and in school. Thank you Nurse Morgan for all of your hard work to get these tests for our District.

Early Access to Kindergarten or 1st Grade April 1st, 2021

Colorado has a process for highly advanced children that are not yet 5 years old to have access to Kindergarten in the public schools, or to 1st grade if they are not yet 6. Our Middle School won the inaugural 2015 Governor’s Award for Healthy Schools competing with 43 other schools for this honor. In 2016, our Elementary School also won a healthy award grant. Our Special Talents teacher, Mary Kurt-Mason was named in People Magazine as “Teacher of the Year”.
