Stephanie grew up in Frisco, Colorado and after graduating from Summit High School attended Northern Arizona University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She then moved across the country and received her Master's degree in Communication Disorders from The Pennsylvania State University. Go Nittany Lions! She completed her student teaching/internship at Schroth School in Wanamassa, New Jersey. Stephanie then moved from the east coast to the west coast and worked for Saratoga Union School District in Saratoga, California. After experiencing both coasts she learned she was really a small town mountain girl, and moved to Pagosa Springs in 2001. Stephanie has enjoyed living in Pagosa Springs and working for San Juan BOCES serving Archuleta School District as the speech-language pathologist since that time. She finds it very rewarding helping students improve their communication skills and enjoys working with the variety of students from teaching those with articulation disorders to produce their sounds correctly to working with non-verbal students teaching them to use alternative modes of communication such as pictures, sign language or communication devices. 

 

When not at school Stephanie enjoys skiing in the winter and hiking, swimming and playing in the river during the summer. She can also be found at the soccer field watching her two sons play soccer.
