Tracy Schenk was raised in a military family and lived in Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, Alabama, and Okinawa Japan. She graduated from Peoria High School in Peoria, Arizona. Upon graduation she moved to Alamosa Colorado and attended Adams State College. She graduated in December of 1994 with her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in science. She then moved back to Peoria Arizona with her three children to start her teaching career as an 8th grade science teacher. After two years, she moved to Pagosa Springs and married her husband, Marcel. She has lived in Pagosa Springs, with her husband and three children, since 1997. All three of her children graduated from Pagosa Springs High School and have gone on to follow their dreams. She also has an adorable grandson, whom she loves with all her heart!
Upon moving to Pagosa Springs, Tracy was hired to teach 6th and 7th grade math and science in Dulce, New Mexico and then was hired on in Pagosa to teach 5th grade for two years. Since science was her passion, she moved into the 6th grade science position and stayed there until she moved to the elementary school to become their school counselor. She has been the school counselor at the elementary school since 2012. She had gone back to Adams State to pursue her Master's of Arts in School Counseling and graduated in 2013. She loves her job and the elementary. Her passion is prevention and early intervention with children. She also enjoys assisting teachers and parents in working with their students.
When Mrs. Schenk isn't working, she enjoys visiting her children and grandson. Hiking, going to the lake, and riding her bike are favorite outdoor activities with her husband (and which ever kid is home). She is an avid reader and traveling will continue in her future.
