Hello! My name is DJ Groves. This is my first year at Pagosa Springs Elementary School. I received my BA in Journalism and Media Communications from Colorado State University with a minor in Sociology. I almost have my master’s degree in Special Education (December 2024), from the University of Northern Colorado. I have worked in education since 2019 in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have worked with 9th-12th graders and taught 6th-8th grade at the middle school.  I am excited to be here and work with the students helping them learn and grow in their educational journey. 

Outside of school, I spend time with my family, friends, and my adventure cat “Kitty", a cat/dog. As a Colorado Native, I enjoy outdoor activities, hiking, backpacking, s’mores, camping, taking pictures, being an animal lover, and traveling the world.  37 USA states and 12 Countries- the exploration continues adding more yearly.
